I have been meaning to come to Ireland for years but things got in the way this year i have done it

 It could not have been much easier I  booked the ferry the night before using stena line £69 on the 1st of August, that will do,

A quick pack, I have considered camping so had to take a tent sleeping bag, etc but will see how the weather pans out.

Immediate first thoughts on arrival in Ireland.  Stop signs everywhere I have yet to see a give way they all stop signs, Horses and I mean really fancy Ferrari-type horses also potatoes growing being sold on the side of the road as well lorries transporting them 

Stop signs 

I have not traveled far probably less than  fifty miles and I am in the back of beyond  but there are much more Stop signs than five ways we will see how that changes on a busy road 

Horses 

I don't know much about horses but like many things I know a good one when I see one and there are lots in fields I have only seen a few being ridden but the ones running around in the fields definitely look like the Ferrari of horses to me

Potatoes 

You can’t go a couple of miles well km here without seeing signs for potatoes either selling them on the roadside or straight from the fields 

Yesterday I rode from the ferry west along the line of the Norman way houses here are big or at least the plot the are built on is big, very much like Belgium in some respects but green, almost tone it down a bit green probably as a result of the rain 

Although I am prepared to camp it has to be under my terms and that is it's not actually raining, not likely to rain, and there whilst that does not involve camping, oh and there is not an A in the month.

Monday ride was long and boring mostly motorway with a pleasant little ride between Carmarthen and Fishguard almost worth the miles of motorway to get there

I arrived in Fishguard with about thirty minutes to spare and jumped into the ferry queue which had started to depart 

Amazingly for ferries, we departed dead on time leaving beautiful weather on a packed ferry. I don't think that I have been on a ferry that appeared so full there was no room for another motorcycle let alone a car
