Not the best of days rained hard all afternoon I realised that I needed to get North in order to visit some of the places Things didn’t go so well when I couldn’t find my ear plugs I still haven’t found them so will have to buy some tomorrow Then I found the chain had stretched and needed adjusting but I couldn’t undo the lock nut with my adjustable so was forced to stop at a tyre fitting garage and the mechanics kindly leant me the required 27 mm socket so that problem was sorted Then the rain started and just kept coming at one stage I was forced to take cover in a most ingenious way I stopped at a barbershop and had a wet shave by the time I was finished it was starting to clear up but it was still cold enough for heated grips A long and hard day a total of 241 miles mostly dual carriageway and motorway but enough 100 km single carriageway to keep me interested The roads here remind me of the A4 out of London fast long sweeping roads plenty of over...

I have never seen rounding up on a till receipt I know it’s only one cent but where did it come from and more importantly where does it go. it’s also interesting that 6 euro is tax on the fuel and I have only just realised that as fuel goes up so does the tax so accordingly each time fuel goes up the government is reaping yet more money

I have woken early to a glorious day blue sky and very little cloud cover, perhaps just perhaps I could consider getting my sunglasses ready, not actually wear them that’s a bit too presumptuous but just in case I have started to get back into the swing of things, up until now I have been too tired so we will start with admin Scores on the doors The GPS which I did remember to zero at home now record 350 miles unfortunately on both of them, now I thought I had canceled one yesterday so I have either done both or more likely didn’t do either Taunton to Fishguard is about 200 miles and from the ferry to my first night about 40 maximum so yesterday I probably did 100 miles now this shows how important figures and especially recording them are. I just wish 8 could remember to do it. Yesterday I had a few issues leaving Brian’s house for one this was one plqce I could have easily stayed a few more days, I did manage a county tea stop stopping at the entrance to an ab...

After the phonetic rush of Monday I wanted and needed to just slow down and smell the roses I woke early and really refreshed and decided to go for a walk rather than wake my host Brian by clattering around. Creeping out of the house the weather had not improved that much it was still quite misty I could hear the sea and even taste it, but its distance was still a mystery. Whilst it was not cold it wasn't August hot or even warm so my jacket was an absolute necessity. After a short walk of about half a mile the road rising all the time suddenly just like a light coming on I had a view of the sea about 1/4 mile to my right, massive rollers were crashing onto the sandy shoreline if it was not for the fact I knew it would be bloody cold I would almost suggest enticing. and I could see several groups of swimmers braving the elements I t must blow here quite a lot or else that have really determined caravan thieves as i saw one that was literally chained to the ...

It could not have been much easier I booked the ferry the night before using stena line £69 on the 1st of August, that will do, A quick pack, I have considered camping so had to take a tent sleeping bag, etc but will see how the weather pans out. Immediate first thoughts on arrival in Ireland. Stop signs everywhere I have yet to see a give way they all stop signs, Horses and I mean really fancy Ferrari-type horses also potatoes growing being sold on the side of the road as well lorries transporting them Stop signs I have not traveled far probably less than fifty miles and I am in the back of beyond but there are much more Stop signs than five ways we will see how that changes on a busy road Horses I don't know much about horses but like many things I know a good one when I see one and there are lots in fields I have only seen a few being ridden but the ones running around in the fields definitely look like the Ferrari of horses to me...
